I'm still fighting the bug. We really need an automake/autoconf expert.

No, 0.10.0 still has configuration bugs. :-( Where's that autoexpert? It 
would be great if someone puts a little time on this. We are in a really 
tight schedule, and we haven't found any time for learning autotools yet.
