Hi,

I'm sending you this mail because as far as I know you're maintaining a number
of games for Ubuntu in http://www.getdeb.net/

Some of us, people from most of Linux distributions, BSD systems and some
games upstreams have decided to join efforts and work together to reduce
duplicated work. For coordinating we have set up a distro-agnostic mailing
list [1], as well as the wiki facilities of the Freedesktop project [2]

As Games are somewhat special in that they in general need more patches
than usual packages and that they often have a dead upstream, we plan to
discuss some ways there to try and collaborate more.

We will start defining requirements and possible layouts for
below-upstream repositories, soon. We can then pull some games from there
and get a common, patched version.

Patches and changes that are specific for each system would be applied later
by every distribution in their local repositories via the same process that
every one is following right now.

For an starter's introduction on this project, feel free to have a look at [3].

Greetings,
Miry

PS: I do apologize if you think this is spam. I'm sending it in the serious
belief that you might be interested in knowing about the project, and
maybe joining us.

PS2: Feel free to forward this email to whoever you think might be
interested in your team,
or outside from it.
