Geoclue-2.20 not working with gnome-3.16.x

Hi,

I'm using geoclue-2.20 with a non-systemd gnome-3.16.x setup.

Location services are enabled as per the gnome-control-center, but although
I don't get any error messages, gnome-maps gives a pop-up stating that it
cannot connect to location services.

If I try:

$ /usr/local/lib/geoclue-2.0/demos/where-am-i
Client object: /org/freedesktop/GeoClue2/Client/1

..and the geolocation icon appears on the gnome top bar.

..and
$ /usr/local/lib/geoclue-2.0/demos/agent
Geolocation service in use

..but then nothing further happens, the geolocation icon disappears from the
gnome top bar and:

Geolocation service not in use

I'd be grateful for any troubleshooting suggestions.

Regards
John
