Hola,

a new revision has been finished:
http://ghns.freedesktop.org/spec/ghns-spec.html

As usual, the changes can be found on the bottom. This time, it mostly takes
into account the downloadurl-* variants which were added during aKademy.
What I plan to create also is a migration document from current to this
format, which means explaining the type->category change, the
knewstuff->ghnsdownload change etc.

Also I experimented some more with web service access. As a result, a new
exchange format has been derived from SOAP, which can be generated
automatically on-the-fly, so no additional format maintenance is necessary
and yet the traffic volume can be decreased dramatically - from 1700 bytes to
about 200 bytes in the case of a simple server info request-response!
There's a even semi-academic paper about it:
http://web.inf.tu-dresden.de/~js177634/webservices/cantrees.pdf

Last but not least, some work was done on Hotstuff, mostly to prepare it for
24/7 usage on the new server. As usual, progress is documented here:
http://cia.navi.cx/stats/project/kstuff

(This includes the KNewStuff2 development which is still miles away from being
finished, but made some nice progress during the weekend.)

Josef
