GStreamer SDK – Preview release for Android

Hi everybody,

Collabora and Fluendo are currently working on adding support for
Android to the GStreamer SDK at gstreamer.com. This includes the latest
versions of GStreamer and other software, all the plugins you know from
your Linux/Windows/OSX system and new audio/video sinks for Android that
only use official, public API. Also included is a codec plugin using the
new MediaCodec API that is available since Jelly Bean.
The new video sink was already mentioned in an earlier thread on this
list by Reynaldo H. Verdejo Pinochet

We're inviting all of you to test a preview release of this with your
existing applications and report any bugs or other comments to myself.
So far testing only happened on the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7 with Jelly
Bean and Ice Cream Sandwich, test results for any other Android version
or device would be very welcomed.

Developing and building applications against this is already possible
and will be supported in the future, including commercial support
by Collabora and Fluendo.
The final public release will be made in early November.

It's a very simple and minimal video player using GStreamer, supporting
all free codecs and container formats and on Jelly Bean also the codecs
available on the device.
