Basic Tutorials on OSX

I'm trying to get the basic tutorials to run on OSX starting with this one:
https://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/documentation/tutorials/basic/hello-world.html

I followed the instructions here
https://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/documentation/installing/on-mac-osx.html
and got the project pulled up in XCode. I replaced the original uri (
http://docs.gstreamer.com/media/sintel_trailer-480p.webm) because it was
404ing with a new one (
https://www.freedesktop.org/software/gstreamer-sdk/data/media/sintel_trailer-480p.webm
).

I can successfully compile and run it, and I hear the audio playing, but I
don't get any video. I'm pretty sure it's not hiding anywhere on my
desktop. I minimized everything I could and still don't see it. Any advice
on how I could start debugging something like this?
