The GStreamer team is pleased to announce the new stable 1.4 releases of
gst-validate, gst-editing-services, gst-python and gnonlin.

The 1.4 release series is adding new features on top of the 1.0 and 1.2 series
and is part of the API and ABI-stable 1.x release series of the GStreamer
multimedia framework.

The stable 1.4 release series is API and ABI compatible with 1.0.x,
1.2.x and any other 1.x release series in the future. Compared to 1.2.x it
contains some new features and more intrusive changes that were considered
too risky as a bugfix.

This is the first release of GstValidate, the GstValidate API is not guaranteed
to be stable apart from its command-line interfaces and the few APIs defined in
the documenation [0] That release, even if called 1.4, is compatible with
GStreamer 1.2, so do not hesitate to use it with that version.

This new version only fixed a few issues, mainly "gnlcomposition: Allow
low-memory usage" :

Note that this is the last release of GNonLin in its current form as it has
just been rewritten in big parts, and this rewrite will in the next release be
distributed as part of the GStreamer Editing Services, and hopefully in the
future in gst-plugins-base.

This release introduces the possibility to get python-based GstElement
registered in the GstRegistry allowing us to use them from applications written
in any language. It also fixes a few issues with the newest PyGobject versions.
