+I see a few possible problems based on your output.

+You have installed gstreamer-0.4.1, but it looks like you still have
+gst-plugins-0.4.0 installed.  Your best bet (if you are installing
+from source) is to remove prefix/lib/gst, and reinstall both gstreamer
+and gst-plugins.
