 Found this while examining glsink's RGB input:
 
 videotestsrc produces an incorrect RGB output image (probably Red/Blue
 exchanged), can be tested with:
 
 gst-launch-0.7 videotestsrc ! pngenc ! filesink location=out.png
 (down left is _red_ instead of blue). 
 
 Probably never visible as xvideosink accepts both RGB and YUV, and seems to
 default to YUV.

+videotestsrc is correct.  It is pngenc that is broken.
