Is this CVS head of all the packages? 

Did you compile totem using --enable-gstreamer=0.9?

Run ldd /usr/bin/totem | grep gstreamer and check that it's linked against
libgstreamer-0.9. gstreamer-0.9 and gstreamer0.8 are parallel installable, but
cannot use each other's plugins.
