Cool. Thanks for the explanation.

You might find the 'speed' element interesting - it's a libsoundtouch based
element that can do pitch-preserving speed changes and speed-preserving pitch
shifts. It's still in gst-plugins-bad because it needs a patch or 2 for
handling seeks correctly iirr, and needs to go through the other points of the
plugin checklist to move to gst-plugins-good.
