Summary: Writing a seekable element
Product: GStreamer
Version: 0.10.x
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: Normal
Component: documentation
AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
ReportedBy: johan at gnome.org

GNOME version: Unspecified
GNOME milestone: Unspecified
There seems to be some missing documentation on how to make an element
seekable.
The use case is someone, that just written his/her first element and wants to
make it possible to seek in the element. Currently the developer has to read
some text files in the docs/design and/or look at some of the existing elements
in -base/-good which has implemented seeking in a proper way.
The plugin writers guide is probably a good place to put this in.
