There is already an element to handle ssa/ass subtitle formats : ssaparse that
comes with the subparse plugin in gst-plugins-base. And I don't think it was
just added to cvs, so it should already be available in the last release.

Gil, why do you say it doesn't work ? Have you tried it with totem ? It might
just be a wrong integration with totem.
