I had a look at the logic in xine. Apparently, there needs to be some magic
done to convince a real server to send data (look for "RealChallenge"). I guess
it'll take some hours to port the logic over to GStreamer.

Regarding ram and lsc files, I've already proposed a solution: #346840 and
#346948.
