Fredrik, could you give me some backtraces:

_ with G_DEBUG=fatal_warnings
_ with G_DEBUG=""

make them with:
> ulimit -c unlimited
> G_DEBUG=... python yourtest.py
> gdb python <corefile>
> bt full
