"fixed upstream" means in ffmpeg. If you want to try it, you need to grab the
GST_FFMPEG_NO_MIRROR branch of gst-ffmpeg (which will become trunk after the
upcoming gst-ffmpeg release).

You will also need a cvs head version of gst-plugins-base.
