Reply:

1) Does this happen on startup?
Answer/question: Do you mean when I run the file?
Answer/question: Or when I start the system?

Presumed answer: When I run the (MPEG-2 ?) file the Totem player window appears
in less than 1 second, then, just as less as an additional second, maybe 0,8
second does the report bug appear.

2) Or only after a few seconds?
     Or only when seeking?

Interpretation: If the manner on how a computer works is beeing well (or
maybe also wrong) understanded by myself, I can report this:
When Totem displays (nearly instantaneous) I guess it is seeking todetect the
mpeg application, to run it, further during the next 0,8 seconds before the bug
window appears I suspect during this seeking process happens the bug.

3) Could you make the file, or the beginning of the file, available somewhere
please?

Answer: I think this is possible but I'm not a Pro in these things, I will need
your help on how to do this. Will I have to do a FTP server?

4) What's the output of...?

Sorry, didn't understand the developers slang, be more explicit.

           Interpretation/ answer maybe useful:

By rightclicking on the file choosing properties there's displayed under

Type: MPEG Video
Video Codec: MPEG-1
Audio Codec: MP2
