patch to fix the problem
changes the way async-done is handled in the toplevel bin. With this patch the
state will be updated immediatly after an async-start or async-done message
instead of in another thread. This patch also removes the polling in _get_state
and avoids spawning a thread when we just go to the PAUSED state.
