This kind of thing is much easier to look into with a sample file.

Could you make a log like this please:

 $ export GST_DEBUG_NO_COLOR=1
 $ GST_DEBUG=a52dec:5,*alsa*:5,baseaudiosink:5 gst-launch-0.10 playbin
uri=file:///home/mike/test.avi 2>dbg.log
 $ gzip dbg.log
