This is inside a libtool macro, so there's not much we can do about it.  This
should happen with any software that uses autoconf/libtool.

Unless, of course, there's some magic autoconf voodoo that we're missing to
disable C++ and fortran checking.  That would be cool.  If that's the case,
please reopen.
