Please describe the problem:
When I use gstreamer alsa output (selected in gnome preferences) with
rhythmbox, output crackles a lot in louder parts of music. When I use mplayer
with alsa output, no such problem occurs, nor when I use rhythmbox with
pulseaudio and alsa output.

Steps to reproduce:
1. play music in rhythmbox while having alsa output selected


Actual results:
music crackles during louder parts

Expected results:
no crackling, music plays fine

Does this happen every time?
yes

Other information:
powerbook with snd-aoa linux driver (of which I'm the author) with a tas codec
