GStreamer | gst-plugins-base | Ver: 0.10.18
Summary: mixers that use gst_mixer_set_volume() do not function
properly
Product: GStreamer
Version: 0.10.18
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: Normal
Component: gst-plugins-base
AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
ReportedBy: xt.knight at gmail.com
QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
GNOME version: 2.21/2.22
GNOME milestone: Unspecified
Original bug at Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/252237
The problem is, the volume control skips around and jumps to zero sometimes
when adjusting it.
I limited the problem down to the ext/alsa directory of gst-plugins-base.
The problem is introduced sometime between 0.10.12 and 0.10.14 or at 0.10.14,
and it still exists in 0.10.18. I believe this commit is at fault:
