I had the same issue with e.g. "Dancer In the Dark" DVD.
This is on OpenSuse 11.0
libdvdnav-0.1.10-112.1
libdvdcss2-1.2.9-1
libdvdread3-0.9.7-4.1
libdvdplay-1.0.1-0.pm.0

not sure what of this is actually used ...
