GStreamer | gst-plugins | Ver: 0.10.14
Summary: Unable to load updated plugins
Product: GStreamer
Version: 0.10.14
Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: Normal
Component: gst-plugins
AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
ReportedBy: cyberanth4 at aol.com
QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
GNOME version: 2.19/2.20
GNOME milestone: Unspecified
Please describe the problem:
I am trying to install support for common media files for Movie Player and
Rhythmbox Music Player. It asks me to refresh the list of plugins for either
program every time I click on a media file.
A refresh of the list is shown yet no updates are made and not no new plugins
are added. I realize this finish trying to install the require plugins for a
second time.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a media file (any) from my second hard disk.
2. Wait for the software to load and access the file.
3. Wait for the error message dialog box to display.
Error message: << The playback of this movie requires a MPEG- 1 Layer 3 (MP3)
decoder plugin which is not installed. >>
Actual results:
NOTHING
Expected results:
My media to start playing with the player.
Does this happen every time?
Yes.
Other information:
This content in question was created by a Windows system and is now being used
on a Linux system. I have access to this drive within Ubuntu and I have access
to non media files whithin Ubuntu as well.
Windows has NOT been reinstalled on the master drive and has yet to be
reinstalled on this system.
