  GStreamer | gst-plugins-base | Ver: HEAD CVS
Summary: [textoverlay] support for more text styling options
           Product: GStreamer
           Version: HEAD CVS
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: Normal
         Component: gst-plugins-base
        AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
        ReportedBy: vortex at wolpzone.de
         QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
     GNOME version: Unversioned Enhancement
   GNOME milestone: Unspecified

The following nice features are currently missing:

1) Drawing a nice, antialiased and shaded outline with custom thickness and
possibly color
2) Drawing an alpha-blended shaded background.
3) Specifying a text color

Out of these, I think 2) is the most important because a nice outline improves
readability of subtitles very much and antialiasing makes them look less ugly.

Specifying a text color is probably not all that important, since most people
are fine with white.
