IIRC another problem with the ladspa plugin is the completely inintuitive way
of using multichannel audio: Currently it creates one pad per channel. This can
only be worked around a bit by implementing some magic to detect from the
textual description of the ladspa plugins in/outputs whether these two are
meant as one stereo input or whatever. Talk to Stefan about this :)

And then AFAIK the segment handling of the ladspa plugin is not optimal... and
if one searches for FIXME in the sources some other places of improvement are
found.
