Please describe the problem:
the latest git revision of gst-plugins-gl won't build on ubuntu 8.04 (hardy)

Steps to reproduce:
in gst-plugins-gl:
./autogen.sh
./configure
make
sudo make install

Actual results:
The compilation fails with:
