Running it with GST_DEBUG=check:4 shows that the problem is
in element v4lsrc.

Funny thing, running
GST_REGISTRY_FORK=no G_DEBUG=fatal_warnings GST_DEBUG=check:4 make
generic/states.check

works fine 5 out of 10 times, while

GST_REGISTRY_FORK=no GST_DEBUG=check:4 make generic/states.check

always fails. So, some race condition seems to be
involved.
