Hi. 
Now I have a same problem.
After reading your comments, I tried to compile textoverlay2 in
gstreamer-0.10.23/ gst-plugins-base-0.10.23

make/ make install  are OK .But it does not work.
I got a error message like this.
(gst-inspect-0.10:15982): GStreamer-WARNING **: Failed to load plugin
'/home/pym/local/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstpango.so':
/home/pym/local/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstpango.so: undefined symbol:
pango_cairo_update_layout

What shall I do?
If you know about this, please give me some info.
