It currently only brings benefits for the OMAP3 v4l2 driver which is open
source but not yet part of the official linux kernel. I know that there is some
work beeing done to add support for the in the UVC driver. If this gets into
the linux kernel tree, its easier to verify. Maybe we should wait for that.
Most probably I need to update the patch now to work with the recent v4l2sink
changes too.
