Yeah, but it really depends on the contention on that mutex. The biggest
performance problem however is that g_rand_new reads way too much from
/dev/urandom. A fix for glib has been comitted to git today
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=593232) but that won't help until
it's released and in use everywhere.
