Summary: adding variants to mpegtsmux
Product: GStreamer
Version: 0.10.22
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: Normal
Component: gst-plugins-bad
AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
ReportedBy: Uraeus at linuxrising.org
QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net

GNOME version: Unspecified
GNOME milestone: Unspecified
So in addition to the original normal MPEG TS format there are at least two
others in common use. The MPEG TS variant used by AVCHD and Blu-Ray, often
using the .m2ts suffix.
Cameras supporting HDV also use MPEG TS using a variant.
To be able to distinguish between these three on a caps level I suggest we add
a
'variant' subcaps to the mpegtsmux element.
My suggestion for names would be:
variant=original
variant=avchd
variant=hdv
