Summary: Totem plays video using DAR instead of PAR
    Classification: Desktop
           Product: GStreamer
           Version: 0.10.22
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Normal
         Component: don't know
        AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
        ReportedBy: steve.clark at bluebottle.com
         QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.sourceforge.net
      GNOME target: ---
     GNOME version: ---

NTSC DVD's are played with the width reduced instead of height increased, i.e
640x480 instead of 720x540. Also, MP4's are played at inconsistent sizes as if
PAR's are not being respected.
Example: 2 MP4's encoded from one source, but cropped to different sizes
(702x380 and 702x400) using par 16:15. The larger MP4 plays at a smaller size
in both directions than the smaller one. (Source: PAL DVD)
Also, if I crop only 4 pixels from the right hand side, the encoded MP4 plays
at full width as if the par is being ignored, and the dar (4:3) is being
maintained).
This is producing inconsistent and undesirable results.
I have tested this with both Totem and Kaffeine and the results are the same.
Totem xine, vlc, and mplayer do not exhibit this behaviour.
