--- Comment #4 from Frederik Himpe <fhimpe at telenet.be> 2009-10-28 18:46:58 UTC ---
I noticed this discussion on Totem's irc channel:
20:52 < adamw> hadess: just had a Totem problem reported on the forums -
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?p=1282351#post1282351 , i can
confirm it with current rawhide, see the last
comment...any ideas?
20:52 < hadess> a backtrace that doesn't sucj
20:52 < hadess> suck even
20:53 < adamw> roger, just let me dust off my backtrace foo
20:53 < adamw> i can only reproduce with audio files, btw, doesn't seem to
happen with video...
20:53 < adamw> i wonder if it's visualization
20:54 < adamw> nope, happens with viz disabled. ok.
20:57 < adamw> doing debuginfo install now
21:11 < adamw> hadess: um, just to be clear, totem doesn't crash, so you want
me to reproduce the problem then ctrl-c out in gdb while totem is stuck when it
should be playing, and get the backtrace
from that point?
21:16 < adamw> hadess: if so, that's http://pastie.org/672262 . the problem's
very easy to reproduce - open an audio file (reporter was using mp3s, I used
oggs), let it play for a bit, then open
another audio file; it will sit at 0:00 for a long time, then
eventually start playing.

17:40 < hadess> adamw: fyi, can't reproduce your bug, but cosimo sees it as
well
17:40 < hadess> adamw: which version of gstreamer-plugins-good and
gstreamer-plugins-base are you using?
17:44 < adamw> hadess: gstreamer-plugins-good-0.10.16-5.fc12.x86_64
17:44 < adamw> gstreamer-plugins-base-0.10.25-2.fc12.x86_64
17:44 < hadess> upgrade your gstreamer-plugins-base
17:44 < hadess> there's a -3
17:46 < adamw> indeed, that fixes it. thanks, will pass it on
17:55 < hadess> it's already tagged and should have been in today's rawhide
18:11 < adamw> hadess: yup, it's in the changelog
This seems to suggest that reverting this patch in gstramer-plugings-good fixes
the problem:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gst-plugins-base/commit/?id=35cddfb1e3ddc6513c7daca093d72151a13e9342
However, I'm not using pulseaudio. According to Mandriva's PA maintainer, we
also don't have the patches in gstreamer-plugins-good which necessite this
revert.
So is this the same bug, after all?
