If I use 
gst-launch-0.10 mysrc .src_video ! fakesink -v works, 
but 
gst-launch-0.10 mysrc .video_src ! fakesink -v hangs, instead it should give
error ?

in reality the element mysrc has a srcpad named as src_video.

This seems to be a bug in gst-launch
