I think this commit fixed the newsegment warning:

    mpegdemux: don't add a base_time==-1 to segment positions

    Fixes assertion about newsegment with start=-1.

so it should be fixed in gst-plugins-bad >= 0.10.14.

Please re-open if you can still reproduce either of these with the latest
ugly/bad releases.
