Is there any reason you are not using giosrc for this? gnome-vfs is known to
misbehave in multiple ways and basically unmaintained, as far as I know (not
that we won't apply patches if there's any easy fix on our side, but I think
there are just a lot of issues that are not fixable easily or at all).
