Hrm, odd:

$ grep scanner 610017.strace 
[pid  3211] execve("/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/gst-plugin-scanner",
["/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/gst-plug"..., "-l"], [/* 77 vars */]) = -1 ENOENT (No
such file or directory)

but then:

stat("/usr/lib64/gstreamer-0.10/gst-plugin-scanner", {st_mode=S_IFREG|0755,
st_size=6456, ...}) = 0
