I'm going to add what we discussed on IRC today:

For AAC you only need the parser if it is raw ADTS.

AAC in mov -> no parser
AAC in mkv -> no parser
whole ADTS frames shoved in mov/mkv -> no parser
Raw ADTS -> parser
