Peter: could you please try the packages from the GStreamer PPA?  Your bug
report contains a 'GStreamer-WARNING **: Element bin2 already has parent'
warning, which if I remember correctly is a playbin bug that's been fixed ages
ago (Ubuntu 9.10 is a bit old..)

Reporter (marker at indymedia.org): same for you please, could you try the
GStreamer PPA packages and/or a newer ubuntu version? It would be great if you
could catch a GST_DEBUG=*:5 log of the problem and attach it or make it
available somewhere.
