Are you doing 'universal' builds of GStreamer ?

Looks like the 32bit gstreamer core (the one called called/loaded from your
32bit firefox) is spawning the plugin-scanner in 64bit mode.

Is the plugin-scanner also a universal executable (does it contain both
32/64bit code) ?
