Summary: 10MiB no_moov sanity check in qtdemux too small for
                    valid 5D Mark II files
    Classification: Platform
           Product: GStreamer
           Version: 0.10.28
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Normal
         Component: gst-plugins-good
        AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: jderose at novacut.com
         QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
     GNOME version: ---

I'm currently producing proxy versions of videos shot on a Canon 5D Mark II.
On about half of the files, my transcoder is bombing out with this error:

ERROR 12000 qtdemux.c(4330): gst_qtdemux_chain ():
/GstPipeline:pipeline26/GstDecodeBin2:decodebin226/GstQTDemux:qtdemux26:
no 'moov' atom within the first 10 MB

One common theme among the 26 files I've found that cause this error is that
they're all rather large. Smallest is around 1.2GB, largest around 4.2GB.

I'll upload the smallest of these to the net somewhere to aid testing... would
be awesome to get one of these files into the automated GStreamer tests (I
spoke to Edward Hervey a bit about this at UDS/LDS in Budapest). All this
video is CC-BY-SA licensed... or I could do CC-BY if that makes it easier to
add to the tests.

I also filed a bug about this in Launchpad:
