First of all, you created an MPEG-TS file, not mp4.  Which is why Windows Media
Player won't play it.

Second, the output file *does* contain timing information.  If VLC can't figure
out the duration, that's not a GStreamer bug.  (Well, it could be, but it isn't
in this particular case.)
