GStreamer | gst-plugins-base | 0.10.x
Summary: Text overlay rendering is pretty rubbish
Classification: Platform
Product: GStreamer
Version: 0.10.x
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: Normal
Component: gst-plugins-base
AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: ross at burtonini.com
QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
GNOME version: ---
The rendering of text in the pango text overlay is pretty rubbish when the text
is small or the glyphs are complex (this was first reported to me against CJK
fonts).
For example, the sample pipeline:
$ gst-launch-0.10 -v videotestsrc ! textoverlay text="Room A" valign=top
halign=left ! autovideosink
Gives the result that I'm attaching. Clearly this isn't optimal.
