Sebastian: Right, the generic query needs to support the N-to-1 case. Can that
be represented in a gobject-introspectible way without introducing new API? If
handling the query return data is just as complicated as iterating the pipeline
by yourself, the thing becomes moot.

Tim: Wrong bug number? Sounds like my original approach.
