This means that you got the code from the code repository, instead of tarballs?
The patches that Tim mentioned are in the code repository.

A patch always fixes specific problems which are located in specific files. The
information which specific files will receive the change is included in the
patch itself. Also see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patch_%28computing%29

None. You patch the gst-plugins-base source code, not valgrind. See above.
