Are you sure you're building that -base againts a matching core ?
Just now, -base builds fine (using core and -base from 5 minutes ago, installed
in my $HOME). There could be dependencies I don't have and you do, or you could
be building -base against an older core installed previously (especially if you
have both a system gstreamer install and one you're building manually).
