You'll have to take it up with the gobject-introspection / pygi people I'm
afraid.

There is nothing we can do in GStreamer (0.10) to fix this. It has to be done
on their end.

The alternative is to go for the still-in-development GStreamer 0.11, which
should work fine (mostly) with pygi and pygtk3, but you'd probably need to port
that espeak plugin then, and you'd be living on the edge, since no distros ship
that yet, and won't for a while, so it's rather hasslesome.
