Can you provide more detail? (What webcam? What versions of cheese/GStreamer?
Recording to what format? Do you have a GST_DEBUG log? Does it work with
non-GStreamer applications? Could you make a sample file of a short recording
available? What CPU/chipset? What's your CPU usage while recording what
resolution to what format? etc.)

It generally works fine for most people most of the time, so not sure why it
doesn't work for you.
