Well, the GstPropertyProbe interface didn't provide this either, it just gave
you a list of devices, and then you had to go and open them and query whatever
you're interested in "manually". You can still do that. The only thing you need
to get outside of GStreamer is the list of devices (for now, until the
interface is replaced with something better).

I noticed that you said "I'm committing patches that add this functionality"
when you filed this bug - do you have patches for this, but just forgot to
attach them to the bug report? I'm happy to commit them if they exist.
